Walks
Guided walks are held frequently throughout the year. Information walks are held monthly – usually on a Sunday morning. Guided walks take place on the second Saturday of each month. Night walks also take place, but not as regularly.
Information Walks
All information walks start at 08:00 from the Information Centre and last about two hours. While the walks are free, those who do not have a valid Friends’ card will need to pay the normal entry fee. Dates and topics are as follows:

Guided Hikes
These walks are guided by two experienced hikers. All walks start from the kiosk near the restaurant in the reserve. No booking, as such, is required. However, to assist with arrangements, please let the Information Centre know if you are planning to join the walk.
Please note: In the event of bad weather, the walks will be deferred to the following week, starting at the same time as scheduled.

Night Walks
Walks have been arranged as close as possible to the new or full moon phases.
- Saturday, 21 January (new moon)
- Friday, 10 February (full moon)
- Friday, 24 February (new moon)
- Friday, 9 March (full moon)
- Friday, 23 March (new moon)
Walks start at the entrance to the reserve at 20:30 and last 1½ to 2 hours.
There will be a charge of R10 for Friends members, R20 for non members and R5 for children up to 12 years.
As walks are limited to 20 persons per walk, advance booking and payment is required.
Tickets will be available at the Information Centre.
Booking opens on 2 January (not before).
Should the walk be cancelled due to weather conditions, ticket holders may claim a refund.
